Assignment #3:
TASTEFUL-DESIGN

For this assignment, you will be creating a take-out menu for a new restaurant (FRONT AND BACK). For this assignment do the following.

• Establish what type (casual dining, pub, gourmet, mexican, etc...) of restaurant you will be creating.
• Based on the restaurant type, decide on the menu items and atmosphere that you would like your restaurant to have.
• Use a Word processor to type the textual content for the menu.
• Spell and grammar check the menu copy
• Arrange text-frames in InDesign to accommodate the text -- keep layout principles in mind while doing so.
• Bring Word-copy into InDesign and select at least 2 typefaces for use in the design
• Apply these typefaces to the menu's text, category headings, and restaurant title.
• Apply color(s) to the design, keep in mind basic color theories. Those presented and discussed in class.
• If you'd like, use images and/or dingbats in your menu.
• Save the file as a PDF and submit it to the appropriate folder on the DGS drive
• in addition PRINT a copy for presentation in the class, the printer can print on both sides.
